FAQs

How is Restoration Place different than other Private Professional counseling?

We view our services as a ministry to the community of Sheridan and offer low cost, yet professional, high quality services. Because we view our professional training as skills and talent thar are God given, we want to offer this as a ministry to the community and offer services to those most in need. Oftentimes the people who most need counseling do not have the financial resources to obtain it and we strive to remove this barrier. Please contact us to discuss cost in futher detail if this is a potential barrier for you.

How do I get started in counseling?

Please call us at 307-461-8575 to discuss an initial appointment. We are flexible in the times we provide counseling, as oftentimes typical "business hours" can be a barrier for clients who work full time. Also, to expedite your first appointment, please print and fill out the "client intake" form under our documents section of the website and bring to your first session.

How is my fee determined?

You will be asked to provide documentation of your estimated yearly family income to determine your fee per session and will sign an agreement with your counselor during your first session with your agreed upon fee. Session fees start at $40/hour to $100/hour. Again, please do not allow fee to deter you in contacting us for counseling.

What can I expect in a counseling session?
A session usually lasts 50 minutes, although longer sessions might be considered useful. Between sessions, clients are encouraged to think about and process what was discussed. At times, you may be asked to do something specific outside of the therapy sessions, such as reading a relevant book or keeping records. For the therapy to "work," you must be an active participant, both during and between the therapy sessions.

What benefits can I expect from working with a counselor?
A number of benefits are available although there are no guarantees. Often it is helpful just to know that someone understands. Counseling can provide a fresh perspective on a difficult problem or point you in the direction of a solution. The benefits you obtain from counseling depend on how well you use the process and put into practice what you learn.

Do you accept insurance?
There is a confusing array of insurance arrangements. The first thing you should do is check with your insurance carrier. Check your coverage carefully. Do you have mental health benefits? How many sessions per calendar year does your plan cover? What is your deductible? We do not submit to insurance, however, we can provide a statement for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Payment is expected at the time of service.
